About the Chef

Chef Nelson is a chef from Towson Tavern, which was voted one of Baltimore's best restaurants, and also won Baltimore's Best Burger

Chef Nelson tells us he loves BBQ, and has a relaxed style in the kitchen. He cites short ribs as one of his favorite things to cook, because of its time and complex flavors.

Chef Nelson lists Chef Daniel Henry and Chef Tyson Spangler as well as General Manager Michael Vellegia, as chefs who have inspired him in his career.

Influences

My cooking style is America mixed with Southern. I have been cooking ever since I could touch a stove, it's my everything".

Chef Dean is most proud of her honey glazed hen. "It is simple beautiful and a great seller," she tells us.

Black Eyed Suzie's is a great restaurant and bar serving delicious Maryland influenced American cuisine! Great seafood, sandwiches, burgers, raw bar, Steaks butchered in house and so much more!

Our goal was to create a menu with delicious food, made in-house with the freshest ingredients. It started with the inspiration of Maryland flavors and finished with favorites from around the country. We believe the food speaks for itself!
